Sikhanyiso “Ska” Ngwenya, 10, is a Zimbabwean actor from Chinotimba township in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

Discovered at age eight during open auditions for the film RISE, Ngwenya had no prior acting experience but was immediately cast in the lead role after standing out from hundreds of applicants.

Ngwenya’s debut performance, opposite acclaimed Hollywood star Tongayi Chirisa, earned critical acclaim and made history when he became the youngest-ever recipient of the National Arts Merit Award (NAMA) for Outstanding Actor, competing against established adult performers.

Ngwenya is currently in Grade 5 at Chinotimba Primary School, where he excels academically, particularly in mathematics. He speaks English and Ndebele fluently and has a strong aptitude for sports, especially boxing as demonstrated in RISE.

On set, he is focused, reliable, and highly disciplined - a remarkable new talent with extraordinary potential.
