is the founder of the Victoria Falls Boxing Home - a residential gym for underprivileged, at-risk local children. Tobius’ mission is to "Defend the Rights of the Destitute” and, through the boxing gym, Tobius pays their school fees and provides a compassionate, well-disciplined environment for them to grow up as part of a family.
Tobius has lived a remarkably tough life, on the streets since the age of 8, but through resilience and hard work he has found success and now provides what he lacked - a loving home and responsible mentorship - to dozens of children just like himself.
Tobius’ incredible life story is the inspiration for this film and he has been involved in every step of the process. Jessie, the writer-director, and Tobius, are close friends - like brother and sister - and decided to embark on this journey of bringing his story to the world together.
The film will be narrative fiction, not a documentary, but directly inspired by Tobius’ life experiences and the emotional and physical journey he has been on that ultimately resulted in his founding of the Victoria Falls Boxing Home.
All are welcome to visit the gym, which is a state-of-the-art facility in Victoria Falls, and has fantastic trainers, many of whom were raised in the orphanage. Tobius also runs unmissable private gorge walks, offering a once-in-a-lifetime view of the spectacular seventh wonder of the world, Victoria Falls. If you are visiting, please don’t miss out on meeting Tobius and his kids!
